UoG visits Daffodil International Academy

Professor Dr. Mayur K Patel, Director of Internationalization & Partnerships, University of Greenwich, visited Daffodil International Academy (DIA) during the period of 13th & 14th May 2019, to undertake a Quality Assurance visit as part of its collaboration with DIA in delivering UoG’s undergraduate programme. As part of his visit he met with students of the BIT programme as well as shared course progress, issues & concerns & future growth prospects with the teaching staff & the management of DIA.

DIA Organized Iftar Mahfil

On 20th May 2019, an ‘Iftar Mahfil’ was organized by students of Daffodil International Academy (DIA) and the Department of CIS, DIU was held at Bijoy Milonayaton, Daffodil Concord Tower. Mukhtar Ahmed, Associate Professor, Department of Islamic Studies, Islamic University of Technology (IUT) had provided the keynote speech on “The Significance of Ramadan in our Daily Life”. The students, faculty members and the management people were attended in the program. The Iftar Mahfil was started with recitation from the Holy Quran and a special prayer was offered for the development of daffodil family and the welfare and peace of the country.

Pahela Baishakh celebrated at DIA

Pahela Baishakh, the first day of Bangla year, was celebrated amid traditional festivities and enthusiasm. The festivities began at dawn on 14 April 2019 with the students and teachers from DIA. The day’s 1^st program was started with Tagore’s famous song ‘Esho hey Baishakh, esho, esho’ as a chorus.  Students of the Daffodil international Academy and Department of CIS, DIU, have decorated the campus with traditional symbols and items. Different cultural programs had also been organized by the cultural club.

Workshop on Python

“On 24 April 2019 (Wednesday), a Workshop on Python was held at Bijoy Milonayaton, Daffodil International Academy (DIA), which was conducted by DIA’s premier instructor & senior-most faculty Mr. BM Nazmul Haque. More than 150 participants attended this 3 hour-long event where they were introduced to the Python language and Python’s web development framework Django. It was announced on this occasion that the 1st batch on Web Development with Python will commence @ DIA from early May”.

Agile Bangladesh Symposium 2019

An initiative to make skilled manpower in IT industry, Daffodil International Academy (DIA) had organized “Agile Bangladesh Symposium 2019’’ for the 2^nd time in Bangladesh which was held on 27th April 2019 (Saturday), at Bijoy Milonayaton, DIA. Mr. Sayed Almas Kabir, President, BASIS and Dr. Touhid Bhuiyan, Professor and Head, Dept. of SWE, DIU, were chief and special guests of the inauguration program Mr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, CEO, Daffodil Family presided over the inauguration program and Mr. Sarwar Hossain Mollah, Deputy Academic Director, DIA provided welcome speech. Experts from software industry have taken the following sessions on Agile- Discovering Agile, Agile Deep-Dive, Agile Leadership, Agile in IoT projects, Agile Gamification, Transition to Agile – demystified and Plenary Agile. Total of 100 participants from different companies and some students were in attendance. Certificates were provided among the participants after the successful completion of the daylong session.
